Level 1 Foundation Certificate Course in WineThe
Foundation Certificate Course in Wine is a great way to introduce your
taste buds to the wonderful world of wine. The course will
give you an understanding of the major wine styles and grape varieties,
wine tasting techniques as well as an insight into the basics of
matching wine and food. The tutor (qualified to teach the
WSET Diploma course) will guide you through a range of different wines
from all over the world and you will also be involved in a practical
wine and food matching exercise. Success in the
straightforward exam will give you a certificate which is an
internationally recognized qualification. Course Description: This
course is suitable for wine enthusiasts who would like to acquire a
more in-depth knowledge of grape varieties, major wine producing
countries, grape growing and wine making. At each session
there will be a lineup of wines to highlight the learning objectives
with almost 50 wines tasted from many countries and grape varieties
during the course. There is no prerequisite to attend the Intermediate
Certificate course, although we recommend that you have some basic
knowledge prior to attending the course (perhaps gained from our
Foundation Certificate or attending some of our Tutored Tastings or
workshops!). The tutor for this course holds a WSET Diploma
and teaches the WSET Diploma course. Success in the straightforward exam will give you a certificate which is an internationally recognized qualification. Level 3 Advanced Certificate Course in Wines & Spirits
Time and Date to be confirmed Course Description: This
course adds depth to your wine knowledge and is a pre-requisite for
WSET's premier qualification, the Diploma for which the course and exam
is exclusively provided in Asia by us. The tutor for this
course holds a WSET Diploma and teaches the WSET Diploma course. Apart
from being a pre-requisite for taking the Diploma, success in the exam
gives you a prestigious qualification. This
course is not just for wine industry professionals but will also be of
interest to anyone who wishes to add depth to their existing wine
knowledge and hold this qualification. There is no need for
any other qualifications before taking this course but it is an
advanced course so existing knowledge is an advantage and students must
be aware that the course and preparation for the exam requires some
study of the course material outside the classroom to secure the higher
grades.
Successful
candidates can apply to use the special designation "WSET Certified"
logo which they can use on their name cards and letterheads. WSET
Level 4 Diploma in Wines & SpiritsThe Level 4 Diploma is
WSET's flagship qualification. The qualification is deisgned to prepare people
for responsible jobs within the wine and spirits business. The course will not
only develop product knowledge to a specialist level, but will also enable
students to acquire skills that will continue to be of use beyond the course.
The course is taught by industry experts, many are Masters of Wine, all will
have up to date knowledge of contemporary issues related to wines and
spirits. The WSET Diploma is viewed universally as the stepping-stone to the Master of Wine qualification. The Level 3 Advanced Certificate is the required entry qualification for anyone wishing to enrol on the Diploma course. The Diploma consists of six units and requires a student to prove competency through a variety of assessment methods. Course programmes will prepare students for their examinations through an integrated programme of lectures, tastings, tutorials, feedback tests and essays. The Diploma course is a blend of taught time, assessment and self-study and requires substantial commitment outside the classroom. [Course Structure] The WSET Diploma is a two-year programme
